Hello September, and welcome back to our lives! I know that the last day of summer is officially not until the 22nd of this month, but let’s face it – the inevitable has finally approached us all. Summer is out the door, and the cool weather is headed our way. Now my all-time favorite season is summer, so I really am bummed out. However, I always love transitioning into new seasons on the fashion end of things. Now is the perfect time to change things up, and a perfect excuse to go shopping! Before you hit up your local mall to demolish your summer savings account, take a look at my 8 essentials for this upcoming fall season.
The Mid-Calf Boot
These are a must have for your wardrobe this fall. For me, I think these look best with a chunky heel. You will be a step ahead of the curb by investing in this newly emerging trend, and I promise they will not disappoint. These boots are the perfect complement to some of this season’s other popular trends – cropped denim and suede skirts.
The Bomber Jacket
This is one of my favorite street-style trends, and it is perfect for the fall season too! The bomber is versatile and can be as light or heavy as you want them to be. It is the perfect mix between tomboy and street wear, which are both huge in women’s fashion right now.
The Plaid Shirt
This has been a fall essential for as long as I can remember, and it isn’t going anywhere. This item is an absolute STAPLE in my wardrobe for this season. It is so versatile. Pair it with jeans for an everyday look, or wear it to work with your favorite pencil skirt!
The Sleeveless coat
Okay, okay. I know many of you are probably thinking “Alyssa, buying a coat/sweater without sleeves is pointless”. I see where you are coming from, but this is a piece that will get you through the transitional climates that lie ahead of us. Plus – they are super cute and trendy and that really is all that matters, am I right or am I right?
The Sweater Dress
This is another seasonal go-to. Every girl and closet should have one this time of year. I suggest going with darker and chunkier fabrics, and going for the midi-length. This is also a great option to pair with those new mid-calf booties!
Black Distressed Denim
Classic. Staple. Goes with everything you own. Do I really need to say anything else?
The Bandana Scarf
Oui, Oui! This trend is no longer in the French-only club. This is a really fun piece to try. I have paired it with a few different looks, but my favorite is with a casual and loose v-neck top, distressed skinny jeans, pointy toed ankle boots, and my hair in a messy bun. Can you say casual chic?
The Suede Skirt
Yes, suede is still in and I couldn’t be happier with it.
. . . . . .
I will be posting pics of myself showing off my favorite looks with many of these pieces here on EGS in just a couple of weeks! I will give advice on hair and beauty options that go best with each look as well. So be on the lookout! Happy shopping and I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
